Chicago Gold 2 Expands Its Collect System with LockNWinX and Eight Characters
Chicago Gold 2 returns to PearFiction Studios’ gangster-themed reels with a much deeper Collect system than its predecessor. The 5×4, 25-line base game features eight different Collect characters, each capable of changing the Cash and Jackpot symbols on screen in its own way. Those mechanics feed into the new LockNWinX bonus, where the grid can expand from five rows to seven, additional Cash values become available and a special Diamond cell introduces Collect characters, Keys and Bags. Five Rainbow Diamonds can then unlock Bonus Collect, bringing the feature system together in one round.

Eight Collect Characters Change the Same Cash Setup in Different Ways
All eight base-game Collect characters appear on reel 5, but they do much more than simply gather Cash symbols. The Commercial Data Sheet gives each character a separate on-screen mechanic across pages 5–12.
The basic Collect gathers all visible Cash and Jackpot symbols. Boost Collect can first add more Cash symbols or increase existing values before collecting them. Respin Collect removes everything except Cash and Jackpots and independently respins the empty positions until no new qualifying symbol lands or the screen becomes full.
Multi Collect targets Cash symbols with 2×, 3×, 4×, 5× or 10× multipliers, applying between two and five multipliers per trigger; the same Cash symbol can be selected more than once. Double Collect awards the collected Cash total twice, although Jackpot prizes are only paid once.
The remaining characters manipulate larger areas of the grid. Zone Collect can create up to three 2×2, 3×3 or 4×4 Boost Zones carrying random Cash values. Path Collect creates a trail across the screen and can increase Cash values positioned along that route by 1×–10×. Finally, Fill Collect fills the screen with one Cash value selected from 1×, 2×, 3×, 5×, 10× or 15×.
LockNWinX Adds Three Rows and a Diamond Cell
The largest structural change comes in LockNWinX. Collecting Pot Coins triggers a LockNWin-style feature played on the base grid plus three additional rows, which begin locked. A special Diamond cell also sits above the reels.
Cash, Jackpot and Bag symbols can appear in locked rows, but they have no effect until that row is opened. Once unlocked, it remains active for the rest of the feature. The potential Cash values rise with each new level: normal active cells can carry up to 20×, the first unlocked row up to 25×, the second up to 50×, and the highest row up to 100×. Keys are used to open additional rows, while the Diamond cell can contain Collect characters, Keys or Bags. These mechanics are detailed on pages 13–14 of the developer sheet.
Five Pots Can Create Multiple LockNWinX Setups
LockNWinX uses five feature Pots: Boost Collect, Multi Collect, Zone Collect, Path Collect and Maxi Collect. Cash symbols replenish respins, and the round continues until the respin counter reaches zero or the available grid is filled. The developer also markets up to 31 LockNWinX combinations, so different sets of active Pots can significantly alter the bonus configuration.
The four Jackpot Diamonds remain another major target: Mini pays 10×, Minor 50×, Major 500× and Mega 5000×.
Five Rainbow Diamonds Lead to Bonus Collect
Alongside the individual Collect progression, Chicago Gold 2 includes a larger objective: finding five Rainbow Diamonds. Completing that set triggers Bonus Collect, described by PearFiction as an all-in LockNWinX round that brings the game's feature mechanics together.
That makes the sequel much easier to understand as one connected system. The eight characters provide different ways to manipulate Cash values in the base game, the five Pots carry selected mechanics into LockNWinX, Keys expand the available grid, and the Rainbow Diamonds provide the route toward the combined Bonus Collect.
Rather than simply adding another conventional LockNWin round to the original formula, Chicago Gold 2 builds its feature progression around which Collect abilities are active and how far the bonus grid can expand.
