Three Feature Pots Build During the Base Game
The main difference between this slot and a straightforward Hold and Win game is its progression system. Three Pots sit above the reels: Boost, Jackpot and Minimum Coin.
Special symbols can appear over regular symbols during the base game. Each one is linked to one of the three Pots and can either upgrade that Pot or trigger the Hold and Win Bonus using its current level. An upgrade or Bonus activation is not guaranteed every time a Special symbol lands. If several Special symbols trigger together, as many as three features can operate in the same bonus round. Reaching the maximum level of a Feature Pot guarantees a bonus activation.
Boost develops from 2× to 10×, while Minimum Coin progresses from 3× to 10×. The Jackpot Pot can improve the Mini Jackpot from 20× to 50× and the Minor from 80× to 150×. Major and Grand remain fixed at 200× and 500× respectively. Pot progress is linked to the selected bet: changing the bet resets the displayed progress, but returning to the previous bet restores it.
How the Hold and Win Bonus Works
The Hold and Win round begins with three respins. Coin symbols remain locked in position, and every new Coin resets the respin counter to three. Individual Coin symbols can carry values of 1×, 2×, 3×, 4×, 5×, 6×, 8×, 10×, 12×, 15× or 20×. The round ends when no respins remain, the grid is completely filled or the game reaches its maximum win.
The active Pots then modify the feature. Boost symbols increase Coin values in their row according to the current Boost level. Minimum Coin prevents values below its active threshold from landing. The Jackpot feature uses progress counters: two Jackpot symbols award Mini, three Minor, four Major and five Grand. More than one Jackpot can be collected during the same bonus, subject to the game’s overall maximum win.
Buy Bonus and Chance ×2
Players can also enter the Hold and Win feature directly through three Buy Bonus choices: 1 Feature, 1–3 Features, or 3 Features. Feature levels are generated randomly in purchased bonuses, while progression accumulated in the normal base game remains unchanged.
A separate Chance ×2 option slightly increases the bet and doubles the probability of landing Special symbols in the base game. BGaming notes that this option is used separately from the Buy Bonus choices. Availability of purchase features can also depend on the operator’s licence requirements.
Pros & Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Three progressive Feature Pots add depth to the Hold and Win mechanic | Maximum multiplier of 3,000× is relatively moderate |
| Up to three Pot features can be active in the same bonus round | Pot progress is tied to the selected bet level |
| Feature Pot progress is restored when returning to a previously used bet | Changing the bet temporarily removes the visible progress for that stake |
| High RTP of 97.75% | Jackpot values are fixed or capped by their Pot levels |
| Three Buy Bonus options offer different levels of feature access | Buy Bonus availability may depend on local regulations |
| Chance ×2 doubles the probability of landing Special symbols | Chance ×2 requires an increased bet |
St. Patrick’s Pots Hold and Win Summary
St. Patrick’s Pots Hold and Win keeps the familiar three-respin bonus structure but adds persistent progression through its three Feature Pots. The ability to improve Boost, Jackpot and Minimum Coin levels before the bonus — and potentially combine all three — gives the feature more variation than a standard Coin-collection round. With 243 ways, 97.75% RTP and a 3,000× maximum multiplier, the slot’s key focus is clearly the interaction between Pot progression and its Hold and Win mechanic.
